Program Manager — Biotechnology Crop Traits

Yield10Bioscience, Inc. is an agricultural bioscience company that is using its differentiated trait gene discovery platform, the “Trait Factory”, to develop improved Camelina varieties for the production of proprietary seed products, and to discover high value genetic traits for the agriculture and food industries. Our goals are to efficiently establish a high value seed products business based on developing superior varieties of Camelina to produce feedstock oils, PHA bioplastics and omega-3 oils, and to license our yield traits to major seed companies for commercialization in major row crops, including corn, soy beanand canola. Yield10 is searching for a Program Manager. The successful candidate will support R&D team with program management for the deployment of new traits in Camelina. Scope of responsibility include managing project timelines, assist the team with securing resources and third-party support services, support field trial contracting and related activities. The program manager will interact closely with our plant science teams in the U.S. and Canada to support crop yield trait development and testing. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with our internal teams. This position reports to our Chief Science Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Program Manager(PM) working closely with the CSO will be responsible for leading a program according to the timeline developed by the program team
• The PM will be responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the program
• The PM will report on rollout status, risks/issues, and escalates where required in accordance with escalation processes
• Tracks progress and adherence to plan for scope, budget, and schedule
• Manages procurement of certain vendors including requesting estimates and contracting
• Identifies and works to resolve team issues
• Facilitates change requests to ensure all team members and stakeholders are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget

QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidates should have a B.S. or M.S. in a life science field
• At least 5 years Agriculture or Biotechnology industry experience with responsibilities in program management
• Strong background in Project Management Principles (Project Planning, Project Requirements, Project Estimating, Resource Management, Scheduling, Procurement, Reporting Status, and Change Management)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with all team members and stakeholders
• Experience facilitating status meetings and holding team members accountable for status, deliverables, and timely escalation of any barriers to success
• Strong negotiation skills to broker conversations and reach compromises
